Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome
Dear Friends of the Mission,
This Jubilee Year has brought us a wonderful surprise during the international pilgrimage of our Institute to Rome. Our Gabonese delegation had the opportunity to visit the seminary of Gricigliano and make a pilgrimage in the footsteps of Saint Francis and Saint Clare of Assisi, as well as Saint Rita of Cascia.
The highlight of the pilgrimage was the solemn Mass celebrated by our founder, Monsignor Wach, at the High Altar of the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome. The eighth of May was truly a blessed day, and the white smoke announcing the election of our new Pope was experienced with great emotion and joy!

Joy, a fruit of the Holy Spirit, was evident on the faces of those recently confirmed by the hand of our bishop, His Excellency Matthieu Madega.
May, the month of Mary, has come to an end, signaling that the final exams are approaching. This school year allowed our boarding students to welcome among them our first baptized individuals, and a 19-year-old from the boarding school finally felt ready to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.

Our American volunteer family is now leaving the mission, with beautiful smiles despite the sadness of departure. Papa Ben leaves behind a well-advanced project, and Mama Jeannie leaves her sewing workshop with her students and godchildren. The testimony of their family life has edified the mission, and we give thanks to God for allowing the mission family to grow! More on there time at their Mission to come in the next newsletter!

Saint Therese of the Child Jesus
Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, thou who hast been rightly proclaimed the patroness of Catholic missions throughout the world, remember the burning desire which thou manifested here on earth to plant the cross of Christ on every shore and to preach the Gospel even until the end of the world. We ask thee, according to thy promise, to assist all priests and missionaries, especially the missionaries of the Institute of Christ the King, and the whole Church of God. Amen.
